about

"Home As In Houston" - the freshman effort from Nashville-based band The Get Togethers - is more than sleek, energetic, emotionally-charged indie-pop-rock. Once you dig past the impossibly-pleasing presentation, this concept record unfolds song-by-song to tell the story of frontwoman Bethany Frazier's life in 2007: a tale that details the heartbreak and misery associated with the then-highschooler's same-sex affair with a teacher - the fall, the betrayal, the fallout, and the misery - and finding solace only in screaming the truth. "You say it's all my fault but / one day you'll stand before God."
